LODGE SOTHIS MAGICAL MANIFESTO

The Lodge Sothis of Dragon Rouge alkhemically arises from the Ritual Group Naples, born in the end of 2000 but fully active between May 2002 and July 2003. The year 2003 has been especially intense and powerful with meetings and group-workings, and this has lead to a concrete progression of the individuals and of the group itself. The name 'Sothis' seems to naturally fit the intents and the magical inclinations of the Lodge: Sothis/Sirius B is the dark star of Set (sometimes also called 'The Eye of Set'), the ancient stellar body mysteriously 'discovered' more than 5000 years ago by the Dogons of Mali, and from which the darkest currents of magic emanate. Sothis is connected to Emme Ya (Sirius C), a bizarre star that constitutes the closest astronomical match to the concept of Black Sun, and from which Atlantean Lore says that many of the entities and intelligences today known in Pantheons like that of Voodoo sprung from.
So, Sothis stands as the stellar, pulsating centre of the Draconian Current and of the energies that move the opposite side of creation - Sothis as 'Astrum Nigrum' (Black Star), soul of Black Isis and cosmic veichle of Set.

As in the past, we will stress the importance of the practical magical work that, interlinked with a serious and strong intellectual basis, is the main tool of knowledge and evolution. The areas of magical interest in which the Ritual Group was moving will now take an even stronger focus in theory and practice.
     In the wider spectrum of Dragon Rouge's Draconian Magic and the G.O.T.A., the Lodge will work with different dark magical traditions, all of them characterized by the awakening and channeling of inner and outer powers, interacting with the invisible Worlds. Among the various, the main focuses of Lodge Sothis will be:

 • Stellar Magick and Voodoo

We conceive this discipline as the magical art of channeling and earthing the subtle stellar vibrations that like spores move towards the astral atmosphere of our planet. This ancient magical discipline has been known in ancient Atlantis and many elements can be today found in systems like that of Voodoo, of whose Lodge Sothis will explore the darker aspects, like the traditional African Voodoo, and its Caribbean manifestations, like the Haitian Petro and the Cuban Palo Mayombe cults.

 • Dark Witchcraft

The ancient magical treasure in which many secrets about the Great Work can be found. We'll focus on the south-european manifestations of the dark craft, ranging from the Aradian to the Etruscan and Greek/Roman cults. Nevertheless, we'll not neglect the study of the traditional British and Nordic branches of this magical art. Our explorations include necromancy, lycanthropic/theriantropic mysteries and herbal magic.

 • Qliphothic Magic and Typhonian Alkhemy

We will face the knowledge of the Inverted Worlds in its deeper aspects, using a syncretic approach between the Qabalistic, the Middle Eastern and the Egyptian magical traditions, working on the elements that these different but converging systems offer. A magical exploration of the different Tunnels and Spheres connected with unique forces and powers (like Khephra, Anubis and Melek Taus) and the experimentation of the inner works of Dragon Rouge - like the Qliphothic Seals and related techniques - will be the main frame of the Work.

Vamachara TantraThe neverending Work of awakening the Fire Serpent will be undertaken following the darker paths of Tantra like the Kaula, Aghora and Adi-Nath cults. Ecstatic practices and the awakening of the Kundalini using different methods and more advance practices, as the ones related to the black and hidden chakras and to the different nadis, will be explored using the forbidden magical disciplines of the East.

The Work of the Lodge will be open to all Italian members of Dragon Rouge, but will continue on its focused direction started with the Ritual Group. This means that most of the workings will be directed to members that have at least started operating with the course 1,0º. Outside the official Lodge Meetings, the various members (and expecially the Lodge's inner group) will keep a constant magical contact through different projects, like synchronized and simultaneous magical practices, strenghtening the Lodge's astral unity and power.
     We also aim at a full and active cooperation with other Dragon Rouge Lodges, Ritual Groups and individuals, to keep always alive the Draconian Network. In this spirit, the RG's bulletin, 'Fiat Nox', will furtherly evolve both as the Lodge's magical bulletin, both as a point of exchange and sharing of experiences and energies with the rest of the Order.
     Among the actual projects we are involved into, Lodge Sothis will contribute to the effort of the Mother Lodge to revive Bureus' system of Gothic Qabalah with an inner group focusing on the Adulrunae as keys to Kundalini, the astral body and the siddhis.
